The Shaker Heights Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is dedicated to facilitating the active and informed involvement of all parents and families to achieve the educational success and well-being of all children. Each Shaker school has a Parent Teacher Organization, and every parent/caregiver and teacher of a Shaker student is automatically a member.

 

Website access to the school pages as well as resources and meeting notes are available to all community members.  In order to receive PTO emails and access to the directory, faculty/staff and families are asked to register below. 

 

There are no fees to join the PTO. Please register with a Membership Toolkit account to have access to the family directory. Once you are registered, you will have the opportunity to decide what, if any, of your family information is included in the directory. 

 

Our website is under construction so please check back often. We are working hard to add information that will help our parents stay connected with our PTO and school community.

WHAT IS PTO COUNCIL?

Each Shaker school has a Parent Teacher Organization, and every parent/caregiver and teacher of a Shaker student is automatically a member. PTO Council is a district-wide umbrella group that connects all eight of the individual schools’ PTOs. PTO Council oversees collaboration between the units and with other groups to engage and support students and families throughout the district.

PTO Council is responsible for:

  • Coordination of and collaboration between the individual PTO units

  • Acting as a liaison between District Administration and individual school PTOs

  • Overseeing the electronic distribution of weekly school newsletters

  • Compiling PTO information for the annual printed and online District calendar

  • Administering the Shaker Schools Family Directory

  • Collaborating with the Family and Community Engagement Center

  • Holding public PTO Council meetings to share interests across all our schools

  • Preparation/filing of tax returns for all Shaker schools’ PTOs

  • Organization of selected district-wide unifying events, such as MLK Day and Senior Clap-Out

Upcoming PTO Council Meeting Schedule

Meetings scheduled from 7:00-8:30 pm.  Meetings are currently planned to be held virtually.  A link will be published one week before the meetings.  Attendees to the PTO Council meeting include: Superintendent Glasner, PTO Council Executive Board, PTO Unit Presidents and all interested community members.
